Deviant's Lock Diagrams and Animations
This is a repository of the most up-to-date versions of Deviant’s lock diagrams and animations. Seen in all of the TOOOL educational materials and slide decks, these files are all released under the Creative Commons license. You are free to use any of them for non-commercial purposes, as long as they are properly attributed and the same freedom for others is maintained in all derivative works.
Please note that these diagrams have evolved and developed over time. While Deviant is still proud of the older versions of his images, if you still have copies of legacy material they should all be replaced with the latest versions available here. Each image shown below in thumbnail form can be accessed in high resolution individually, or you can obtain the full set from the zip archive at the bottom of this page.

Somewhat smaller versions of the “lifting with hook” animations are provided since these are far and away the most massive of Deviant’s diagrams. Many computers cannot properly decode and render the full-resolution animated GIF images during playback.
If you encounter this difficulty, use the slightly smaller versions of those files in the links provided. They are still quite detailed and should more than adequately show all that you need to demonstrate.

Master Diagrams
These two PSD files are the master copies that I use to produce all of the above images and more. If you want to make your own diagrams and animations, you are free to use these as a base. Absolutely all elements are independently rendered on their own distinct layers for easy editing. Pixel resolutions are particularly high for the best clarity possible.
