Many padlocks use spring-loaded locking dogs and can be opened with these spring steel shims.
Insert the shim between the shackle and body on the side of the shackle opposite the locking dog. Once your shim is fully inserted, twist so the shim forces itself between the shackle and locking dog. Pull. Open!
