Combine our Epic Expansion and Top of Keyway Turning Tools and save $10!
Launched at DEF CON in 2025, the Epic Expansion is our newest set, featuring profiles designed to expand your range of picking. Narrower tips on the hooks, a small void to allow more access behind long key pins. Precision that can help a more practiced lockpicker distinguish between pin tips, pin sides, warding, and the TOK turning tool that happens to be in your way.
This is our first set in 0.019" thickness: to allow for additional maneuverability in tight spaces, at the cost of some strength. These picks are a bit more fragile than the Necessary Nine v2, but still extremely strong where it counts.
Manufactured of 301HY Stainless Steel, with the following profiles:
- short hook
- medium hook
- tall hook
- deep spoon
- quad wave
- quint wave
Note that this set does not come with turning tools. If you already have a pick set, more turning tools just increases the price and gives you some things you don't really need. If you need turning tools, we offer a few options à la carte.

Picks are approximately 5" in length. Thus, our picksets are unsharpened hand tools under 7", compliant with TSA carry-on guidelines (available here: https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/items/lock-picks) for domestic and international travel within and through the United States of America.
These sets are produced for us by Covert Instruments, though this set of profiles is only available through TOOOL.
